The 10GBASE-SR and 10GBASE-LR SFP+ plugfest was held March 31 to April 4, 2008 and will gave participants’ the opportunity to demonstrate technology readiness to the industry by presenting several 10GBASE-SR and 10GBASE-LR SFP+ optical modules interoperating and compliant with IEEE Std. 802.3ae™-2002. SFP+ enables high-density 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) connectivity using a small form factor previously only possible for GbE connections. Ethernet Alliance members participating in the SFP+ optical modules plugfest included AMCC, Avago Technologies, Broadcom, ClariPhy, Cortina Systems, ExceLight Communications, Finisar, Gennum, Inphi, Intel, JDSU, MergeOptics, NetLogic Microsystems, Opnext and Vitesse.
