George F. (Fred) Hartley, Chevron Information Technology Company

 

Thirty-three years experience in the oil & gas industry, first with Texaco and now Chevron.  After a series of internal short term assignments ranging from electrical transmission systems design, process control systems design, financial analysis and pipeline field operations Fred moved into the telecommunications and information technology field in 1985.

Since moving into telecom and IT, most of Fred’s assignments have involved networking but within that discipline have pretty much run the gamut, from supervisor of a network operational support group to lead engineer responsible for design/installation of wired and wireless telecom and IT systems on an offshore platform to enterprise architect.

Fred served as chairman of the American Petroleum Institute Telecommunications, Network and Technology Subcommittee 2001-2002.

Fred works and lives in Houston, Texas, USA.
