TEF 2025: Ethernet For AI

Presented by the Ethernet Alliance

Join the Ethernet Alliance and industry stakeholders for the next installment in the ongoing exploration of the future of Ethernet and its implementations. Topics will include increased bandwidth, faster signaling, power delivery challenges, advanced packaging technologies, next-generation test equipment and methodologies, new approaches to cooling, and more. The generation of AI networking based on 400Gb/s signaling is likely to diverge significantly from today’s architectures.

The TEF 2024: Ethernet in the Age of AI event, held in October 2024, served as a catalyst for deeper exploration into 400Gb/s electrical and optical signaling. As the industry responds to the growing demands of AI workloads, Ethernet is evolving to support both back-end scale-up/scale-out architectures and front-end network requirements. A year of focused industry workshops, technical meetings, and the IEEE 802.3 Ethernet Working Group’s ongoing assessments of Ethernet interconnect for AI have made it clear: the future of Ethernet will be defined by the combined investments and efforts of all stakeholders. With the development of 400Gb/s signaling, the emergence of 3.2 Tb/s Ethernet should be anticipated.
