The Ethernet Alliance will host an Interoperability Plugfest the week of December 7th, 2026, at the Keysight Technologies campus in Santa Clara, CA. This event will be in support of and aligned with the completion of the IEEE 802.3dj specification and will bring together participants from across the Ethernet landscape to validate these next-generation technologies and advance ecosystem interoperability and readiness. Event testing is planned to include the following:

  • Interoperability of Ethernet systems from 200GbE to 1.6TbE
    • Multi-speed interop testing, with a primary goal of evaluating 802.3dj-based 200G/lane technologies
    • System to system and system to interconnect L1 interoperability assessment of Ethernet devices including PHYs, NICs, switches, servers, test equipment, and interconnects
    • Testing and interoperability evaluation of the new APSU (Autonomous Path Start Up) protocol
  • 200G/lane host and interconnect conformance testing
    • Optical and electrical conformance testing in support of IEEE 802.3dj specification final draft and/or closure of remaining open items
  • Opportunistic
    • Cable/module functionality, including testing of dynamic configurations, timing, and power
    • Jitter decomposition (phase only jitter) update from 802.3dj evaluation across speeds

Both members of the Ethernet Alliance as well as other interested parties with devices/system addressing the above specifications are invited to attend. If you are interested in participating, please contact morgan@ethernetalliance.org.
