Tom Issenhuth is a consultant with more than 35 years of optical networking experience. This experience includes all aspects of designing, implementing and maintaining optical networks for intra data center, data center interconnect, metro, long haul and subsea in the US, Europe and Asia. Tom’s current focus is the development of optical standards.
Tom is an active member of many industry standards organizations including IEEE where he is a regular attendee and lead optical editor for IEEE 802.3, Market Awareness & Education Committee Co-Chair, Physical and Link Layer for the Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF) and chair of the PMD working group for the International Photonics & Electronics Committee (IPEC). He previously worked for Metropolitan Fiber Systems, Level 3 Communications and Microsoft.
Tom earned his Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering degree from the Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.
