Eric Maniloff is a Distinguished Engineer at Ciena, and co-chair of the XPO MSA. Eric’s work focuses on coherent optical modules. During his 25+ years in the telecommunications industry, Eric has been involved in projects including the first DSP based dispersion compensating optical transport equipment, the first coherent optical product, and advanced coherent pluggable modules. In addition to work on line-side optical products, Eric has been involved in client-side optical modules, in industry MSAs, and is active in IEEE standards. Eric received a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado. Prior to Ciena, Eric held positions at ETH Zurich, and Los Alamos National Lab.
