August Pathfinding Event
The Ethernet Alliance will host a Pathfinding Test Event the week of August 31st, 2026, at the Keysight Technologies campus in Santa Clara, CA. This event will be focused on assessing optical specifications and APSU (Autonomous Path Start Up) related to physical layer testing for IEEE 802.3dj technologies, in alignment with the Draft3.2 release and in preparation for the EA Interoperability Plugfest planned for December. Event testing is planned to include the following:
- Devices Under Test:
- IEEE 802.3dj compliant optical transceivers, with a focus on 1.6TbE modules
- IEEE 802.3dj compliant hosts and T&M equipment with APSU capability
- Testing Summary:
- TP3 SRS (stressed receiver sensitivity) and TFT (transmitter functional test) optical evaluation
- SRS and TFT BLER comparison and assessment
- Testing and interop evaluation of the new APSU protocol
- Opportunistic: TP1a (host output) and TP4 (transceiver output) electrical validation
Both members of the Ethernet Alliance as well as other interested parties with devices/system addressing the above specifications are invited to attend. If you are interested in participating, please contact morgan@ethernetalliance.org.
