We are pleased to share that the Ethernet Alliance’s will present the strategic direction for 2026–2027, a forward-looking plan designed to align with key industry milestones and further strengthen Ethernet’s leadership across the ecosystem, virtually on June 23rd at 8am PT.

Strategy Overview Meeting

  • Date: June 23, 2026
  • Time: 8:00 AM PT
  • Duration: 1 hour

Key Highlights of the 2026–2027 Strategy:

Aligning with IEEE P802.3dj Milestones
With IEEE P802.3dj expected to reach ratification in late 2026 or early 2027, the Ethernet Alliance is positioning itself to play a central role in amplifying the impact of these next-generation technologies. This milestone represents a pivotal moment for the industry, and we are preparing to lead the narrative around its adoption and implementation.

OFC 2027 as a Flagship Platform
OFC 2027 will serve as a major showcase for IEEE P802.3dj technologies. The Ethernet Alliance will leverage this global stage to highlight innovation, demonstrate interoperability, and reinforce Ethernet’s continued evolution to meet growing bandwidth and performance demands.

Expanded Plugfest Strategy
To support these efforts, we are planning a large-scale plugfest in Q4 2026 focused on .3dj technologies. This event will be a cornerstone of our strategy—driving interoperability validation, fostering collaboration across the ecosystem, and generating momentum leading into OFC 2027.

Strategic Industry Collaboration
As the industry continues to evolve, particularly in areas such as coherent technologies, collaboration remains critical. We recognize the importance of working closely with organizations such as OIF to ensure alignment and maximize industry impact where domains intersect.

Strengthening Data and Thought Leadership Outputs
A key focus area will be improving the timeliness and effectiveness of post-event outputs, including test data and white papers. We are identifying opportunities to streamline processes and reduce delays to ensure that insights from plugfests and technical activities are delivered in a timely manner—maximizing their value to members and the broader industry.

This strategy reflects our commitment to delivering meaningful technical leadership, fostering collaboration, and ensuring that the Ethernet Alliance remains at the forefront of industry innovation.
