Dr. Paul Brooks is a member of the Product Development team at VIAVI, where he focuses on high-speed physical layer technologies, spanning both optical and electrical interfaces. He works to ensure VIAVI’s test and validation solutions are ready to support the latest Ethernet innovations throughout the development and deployment lifecycle.
With a career dedicated to advancing high-speed networking technologies, Paul has worked across multiple generations of Ethernet, from his early involvement with 10G jitter testing to helping architect solutions for the emerging 3.2Tb era. His expertise includes optical communications, signal integrity, and the validation of next-generation networking infrastructure.
Paul holds a degree in Optical Signal Processing from the University of Southampton. Prior to his career in technology, he served as a Weapons Officer in the Royal Navy. Outside of work, Paul maintains a lifelong passion for all things nautical.
